Lebanon Rotary donates $5K to Warren County Children Services Christmas Program

(Lebanon, OH) – Christmas came early for Warren County Children Services, as $5,000 was recently donated towards its annual Christmas Program. The funds donated will be utilized to purchase gifts and essential items for children in need in Warren County. The donation, (a giant check), was gifted and presented by members of the Lebanon Rotary Club at their November 18, 2021 club meeting.

Rotary is an international service organization in which people unite to take action to create lasting change. The 1.2 million worldwide members are part of 35,000 clubs, and the Lebanon club consists of 56 business, professional, and community leaders.

“Rotary is a service club dedicated to each community in which we are a part of,” said Lebanon Rotary President, Greg Davis. “Our goal is to raise money within the community and then give it to a need,” Davis added. The Lebanon Rotary Club has been serving its community for over 100 years by raising funds through community events such as its annual Pancake Breakfast and the Lebanon Country Music Festival.

Recent Rotary service projects include: Christmas food baskets for local families, scholarships to graduating seniors, supporting the Countryside YMCA Summer Camp, and now, contributing to the Warren County Children Services Christmas Program.

Upon receiving the Rotary’s donation, Children Services staff member, Cara Harrison said, “I literally almost cried – it brought tears to my eyes.” Harrison is a Compliance Case Worker and also serves as one of the organizers of the Christmas Program. Due to the many sponsorships from members of the community, and the monetary generosity from groups like the Lebanon Rotary, almost 700 children in need will receive gifts this Christmas.
